Today my girlfriend told me she was going to have an abortion. After years of not wanting children I found the woman I thought I wanted to have kids with and I was really excited. FML

Have you actually discussed children with her, or did you just assume that because you wanted to have kids with her that she would want to have kids? Because if you haven't discussed children at all, it sounds like the relationship isn't as important as you are making it out to be right now. Sit down and talk with her- just because she's getting an abortion now doesn't necessarily mean children are completely out of the picture. It's also a good idea to talk about it so you don't feel like she owes you offspring just because you want to have them with her.
