Content almost refused by staff

Today, my dad passed away in a tragic accident. 3 hours later, even after my work knew, my coworker called me to ask if I would take her shift. FML.

Let your boss know. Show them the texts or call, explain what happened, and make sure that if your higher up doesn't explore this issue, you do. Because that's unacceptable behavior. HOWEVER. If your coworker didn't know, you can't hold this against them. If they weren't at work when it happened, how would they have known? Did you text every coworker in your contact list letting them know your father passed? I doubt it.

Sorry for you loss OP but I'd tell the coworker to go to hell...
