If he prefers a hastily put together vacation over such a big and important event in his daughter's life, is that someone you really want at your party? I wouldn't want a person like that there, they don't even care enough to be there and support me, and even after giving them ample time to save the date for the party, they decide to ditch it for selfish reasons.
reevaluate your relationship with him. he will not change so make peace with that. live your life and if he comes into your life make it with your rules and expectations. just because his sperm made you is no reason to have a relationship with someone who treats you this way, i hope you would not be friends with someone who did this so cut him loose
