Typical nursing school reaction- don't let them get you down, OP! Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Sorry dude, but I'm a nurse... You need to be able to leave that shit at home and focus on the job. If you're not fully present someone could be seriously hurt or die because of your carelessness. And if you can't leave it at home then take the day off and stay home with it
you do know what nursing school is right?? like sick days dont exist & in maternity ypu dont do anything anyway. oh, I'll be home & out of clinical for 6 weeks because post-op abd incision and i cant lift anything over 20 lbs
You need to talk to the head of your division, and tell them about how inappropriately they treated you. Your clinical advisor has no right to speak to you that way, especially if they said it word for word. Especially since, as a student, you essentially pay their wages with tuition. If the head of that department doesn't do anything, you need to go to the dean, because otherwise this 'advisor' will take you not taking action as permission to further bully and harass you. They wouldn't talk to a patient like that, and if they would, it explains why they are stuck as a teacher, because their manners SUCK.
The best thing you can do is tell your clinical instructor what's going on! They are there to guide and support you :)
I know how you feel due to personal experience... I wish you the best. Do not give up.
oh god no! hope you're ok
Good luck, OP!
That's what happens when you shove stuff in your back door.
I hope that you've gotten good news by now but nursing instructors tend to be vicious she-devils with no heart. I've always wondered how most of them became nurses but then again, they are not taking care of patients anymore. Hang in there. I graduated with a woman who was treated for breast/spinal cancer and she did it without telling them. She's also still going strong.
Nursing school can be surprisingly hard.
