I know it probably doesn't feel like it, but it's probably for the best that he did this now. If he was willing to blame your mental health issues for him having issues- which, given the type of person that does that, probably are completely unrelated to your mental health- he's resented you for them for a while and would have continued to do so. So, cold comfort as it may be, at least you don't have to deal with the stress of a divorce and custody battle, because he sounds like the kind of asshole who would be completely willing to antagonize your health issues to make you be considered an incompetent guardian. Seriously though, while not everyone can deal with dating someone with health issues, it's ******* unnecessarily cruel to use them as a scapegoat for your own damn issues, let alone to their face. ******* hell, just say that things aren't working out, unless the issues are that the health problems contribute to abusive behavior.
