I don't think the he is an asshole at all. He accepts her and think she is beautiful for who she is. Just because he acknowledges that she might be fat or bigger, doesn't mean he sees it as negative. I feel like society has this notion that considering someone fat is never a good thing and it's an insult. But some people are fat, that's true, but what we need to change is our acceptance of fat and take away its negative connotation. Maybe he thinks OP's double chin is hot or cute. Which is awesome, OP, you got a great guy.

No, he is an asshole. First of all, OP said he was pressuring her which is problematic from the get go. I think she then had to try and make reasons as to why, which may have also been true, such as having a little low-self esteem. Just because he says she has a double chin and doesn't repulse him, doesn't mean squat. Maybe he just wants to get in her pants. Which is not awesome. OP has not got a great guy.
