Sounds like it's time to abandon that ship, because it sounds like they've been stewing in their hatred of homosexual people for a while. Of course, it is your call.

Which means the alternative is probably them fetishizing lesbian women, or thinking that women should be submissive to men at all times. It'd require some very intricate mental acrobatics, or a very flawed grip of reality to hate one demographic for being homosexual and not hate another demographic for being homosexual.

I needed a "Your friend sucks" button to hit. Keep that type of negativity out of your life but if they're really your best friend they'll accept you for who you really are.
