Today marks six days until I turn 25, and is also New Year's Eve. I moved to a new country a while ago, so had been planning to get drunk in skype with old friends back home. I got ID'd. The legal drinking age here is 18, I'm 5'10", and the girl who ID'd me looked and sounded 12. FML.
I agree, your life sucks 452

She's doing her job. This isn't an FML. My job requires me to card anyone who looks under 35. Feel happy someone thinks you look young. People assume I'm younger than I look all the time, a lot of people give me attitude when they're barely old enough to drink. If they didn't and you were underage they would be in a ton of trouble. You have to take a class on it to know but some people look a lot older than they are.

Dude. She was doing her job. I started serving alcohol at 19 (legal age to handle booze in the US while drinking it is 21) and would always grind my teeth when customers gave me flack about how old *I* looked and their birthday is *enter so far away ago date*. Yeah I'm not sitting down and having a drink with you. I'm literally legally required to be sure of your age or face repricussions like losing my job. Sorry your irritation with me isn't actually a legal ID.

If the girl who asked for your ID looked 12, that should show you how deceiving looks can be. That's why you got ID'd.

OP....in most places it's a law to ID everyone who buys alcohol. She was doing her job.

So... show your ID. Get intoxicated. Problem solved. Unless you forgot to bring it with you- but that would be your own fault.
