Today, it was our 5th anniversary, so I decided to play a little joke on my girlfriend. Before I gave her the real present, an engagement ring, I gave her a gift-wrapped rolling pin instead. I ended up in the hospital. FML

Well, IMHO you deserve it - while she had no right to clock you - you deserved it - she waits 5 years for the big moment and you reduce it to a bad joke. I hope she first slammed your balls then shoved the pin up your ass. How would you have liked it if the first time you got into her pants - something I am sure you were waiting for and excited about - and she showed you what you thought was her hot little box - then suddenly revealed her hairy dick - how pissed would you have been - wise up a-hole!

Read the FML, tard... HE WAS GOING TO GIVE HER THE RING AS HER REAL PRESENT AFTER. And no, because his girlfriend has no sense of humor and poor impulse control does not mean he deserves to have his balls slammed and the pin up his ass. If this is how you feel, please stay single.

I have no sense of humor but I can take a joke but OP this was a bad joke. I say FYL because no one deserves to go as far as to the hospital for a joke but I also say YDI because jokes go too far sometimes

If this happened to me, I would not hit my BF with the rolling pin enough to hospitalize him. Why? Because I love him and don't want to see him hurt. Plus, I would just laugh it off and tell him no, I will not be using that. Get a woman who cares about you, OP. Save the ring for her.

I'd be like "l-o-l. Best present evar." It was a cute idea that backfired, I'm not gonna call her a bitch, because you obviously love her, but putting you in the hospital was really douchey.
