I would be totally flattered if my boyfriend did a painting of me, regardless of how bad it could be. Stuff that you put real effort into is worth a lot more than jewelry, candy, etc. to me.

Aw. She sounds like the overly-emotional type, way too insecure. The home-made gifts are by far the best! You must be the abstract sort of artist, not the realistic ^_-. Or at least, that's what you should tell her! You're never going to be able to fully capture your significant other's "beauty," but you can put some thought into it, which you obviously have. You could tell her it portrays how ugly and disproportionate you feel without her. That would get her. She sounds like she still has the mind of a child though, tbh. That's quite selfish and conceited, interestingly enough, thinking. Hopefully she'll grow up fast.
What a beezy. I would be thrilled if my boyfriend took a month of his life to paint me something that meaningful. The handmade gifts are always the ones you never forget, even if the one making them isn't particularly artistic.
