Today, I woke up to find that my parents had replaced my regular alarm clock with a walking one that requires you to get up and find it. The alarm was set to 5:00AM, which would have been fine if it wasn't the weekend. FML

Same thing different taste
Today, my parents bought me an alarm clock that runs away from you while beeping obnoxiously when you hit snooze. I just had ankle surgery and am unable to walk. FML
Quick quick
Today, I woke up and saw that my alarm clock had fallen on the floor. It read 9:05 am. I panicked because I was late for work. As I frantically got ready, I went to pick my alarm clock up to place it back on my nightstand when I realized it was upside down. The actual time was 5:06. FML
Today, my mother surprised me with a new alarm clock. It's attached to a toy car which races around my room with obnoxious sirens going at full blast until I crawl out of bed and turn it off. She says this will be a regular thing. FML
Kill it with fire
Today, my dad reactivated a digital clock we had lying around, and accidentally set an alarm on it. For 1 a.m.. So guess who went hunting for that noise in the middle of night. And guess who banished the thing to the living room, then forgot about it, and slept on the sofa in said living room. Or tried to. FML
Today, I'm on holiday, but my alarm clock isn't. It rang at 6 o'clock. FML
Top of the morning to ya!
Today, I set my alarm for AM instead of PM. Woke up at 5AM to realize I have nothing to do. FML
Use the military clock!
Today, I set my alarm to wake up early for work. It turns out I set it for PM instead of AM. I woke up to my boss calling me, asking if I was still alive. FML
Consent
Today, I fully intended to start going to the gym so I set my alarm an hour early so I could go before work and get it over with. Alas, when the alarm went off and I saw that horrible "5 a.m." on my phone, my brain put me straight back to sleep without my consent. I ended up being late for work. FML
Today, I heard my alarm go off, dragged myself out of bed, had breakfast and got ready for work. As I was heading out the door I checked the time again. It was 1:41 AM. Apparently my alarm never actually went off. FML
Astronomical
Today, my phone alarm went off at 3 AM. I don't remember setting it, but it turns out I'd somehow activated an old "Wake up for a meteor shower" reminder. Despite it being the wrong day by months, I got up, looked outside, and only then did my brain kick into gear and I realized it was set for the wrong date. FML

I am imagining a clock running around with a demented troll face... Classic parenting. ;)

Pure genius. The trick is to get 3 or 4 of the MIT Clocky set one minute apart.

And put it in the vent so they can't reach it

I have one of these. They're pretty cool, except mine was used and malfunctions and randomly goes of during the night sometimes.

Reminds me of my neighbors. We've got a competition going to see whose alarm can wake the other up the earliest.

That is a horrible idea. That only encourages property damage.

Wow, that is horrible. I know how you feel though. My parents made me stop using my regular alarm clock since the buttons are messed up but they think I don't turn it off. I have to use my smartphone alarm clock app (iHome+Sleep) to wake up :P

I don't think a smartphone alarm that you can set with a nice sound to wake up with and that lies next to you in bed really compares to a freaking walking clock what you have to find a 5 in the morning in the WEEKEND

I was talking about the "parents changing certain things out of nowhere" kind of feeling. I agree that the walking alarm clock is horrible but that doesn't mean I was trying to upstage the OP and his FML with my comment about my alarm clock story :/
