Today, I went to the gym for the third time this week to finally do something about my weight. I felt very good about myself until a group of twenty-somethings started pointing in my direction and laughed about the "fat girl". Thanks a lot guys, why do you think I went there in the first place? FML

There is gym management for a reason, nobody has the right to bully you and if you complain, they might get kicked the **** out. Those assholes need to grow up, I bet they haven't struggled with weight loss themselves, because it's significantly less funny then.

Been there, done that. It almost makes you not want to work out in public. I never understood why people make fun of other people working out. At least you are doing something about it. And even if you weren't they would find something else to joke or gossip about. They are unhappy with themselves, it's quite sad. You keep up the good work.

Since you cannot teach everyone good manners, I recommend going to the Gym with headphones on. Sincerely, a fat woman who does this

Thank you all of your comments guys, and I totally agree with pretty much all of you. I chose to be the bigger person (hehehe) and ignore them, haven't seen them again since but if I will and they continue to be jerks I'll report them to the management. I've been to the gym a couple of times now and I can actually already see some results, I will definitely keep it up! Thank you all for your kind words, you guys are great.

people can be assholes. ignore them. you're trying to do what's right for you and your body. if it happens again I'd suggest going to management again and asking what their policy is on the subject and proceed from there.
