Today, I went to pick up the U-haul trailer I reserved almost a month ago as my family is moving from Pennsylvania to Virginia. The guy gave it to someone else the day before telling me I'd have to go to an different U-Haul and hope they have one. FML

Report him to a regional manager or whoever is above him in the chain of command. And see if they'll reimburse you or give a discount.

A letter to corporate headquarters should do nicely. Play your cards right and you might get a "freebie".

it wouldn't do any good. the way u haul run some reservations crooked as hell. as in if you make a reservation and don't pick it up on time you get a fee but they don't are any kind of effort to make sure your reservation will be there. it's a company wide customer service issue

I'm fairly certain that, if U Haul as a whole does things like this, it does become something that could potentially become a legal issue, if enough people who this happened to were to group together. If it happens on a company wide scale and the people to whom it happened got records and such, there's likely someone that the company could be reported to. Putting that aside, OP should still go up the chain of command, because if they DON'T try, they definitely won't get any reparations. Best to at least try.

Definitely go to a higher-up about this OP. That's complete BS that they did that to you.
