Today, I was working on my yoga when my kitten decided to attack me. In order to avoid a clawed eye I scooted backwards, only to get 3 inches of wood stuck in my bum. Being a broke nursing student, I had to use my dissection kit and scalpel to cut it out. Now it hurts when I sit... FML

I know you're a nursing student, but unless you're 100% sure that you patched it up properly, I would still get it checked. You wouldn't want an infection from that! Hope your bum feels better!

I'm pretty sure by the time a medical student has a need for such kit, they've gone through the basic education of how to properly tend a wound.

She's a nursing student, and used a dissection kit on herself. On her bum. I'm pretty sure that's not completely reliable.

In Denmark where I live nurses do not have a dissection set. That's for MD and vets. But my vet ex-gf got the dissection set before they got to use it and then they all brought the set to school and learned to use it over a period of a year or so.

You used a scalpel on your own bum? It sounds like a difficult task. You didn't have a friend from class you could ask to come and help you? Make sure it's patched up properly and lots of antibiotics. Get well soon and good luck on your future yoga with a playful kitten. Ps. Perhaps do something to the floors so you can do yoga more safely. Also use a yoga mat :)
