Today, I was turned down for a job as a cashier at Best Buy. I worked like hell to get into and then graduate from one of the top Telecommunication schools in the country. I spent all my time with extracurriculars to help my resume instead of partying like my friends. I can't even be a cashier. FML

You sound like a driven individual that will give a sustained effort to excel. You are clearly not Best Buy material. Take your rejection as a compliment.

I used to work for Best Buy Corporate and now cannot stand going into their stores unless I absolutely have to. I say that with my experience with them, you are better off not having worked for them if that makes you feel any better.

It is scary out there right now. I get out of school at the end of the summer and I am scared of the jobs I will end up with. I am hoping to make the 12 dollars an hour I make now!

Aww, the same thing happened to me. I graduated college with a major in Game and Simulation Programming and applied to Best Buy when I moved back home for some extra cash while I sent out my resumes. I never even heard from them... Keep trying though. The very next job I applied for was an Internet Sales Manager position and I got it right off the bat. You win some, you lose some :D

You're going to community college, aren't you?

Why can't you even get a cashier job? you may ask... the answer is you are over-qualified. no employer will want to give you a low end minimum salary job, because he/she knows that you wont take shit cause you can easily leave and get a better job elsewhere. he/she knowsd you wont settle for minimum wage, like a highschool student would. you dont have to take this shit. my advice? go out and look for a real job. you spent all those years in school, and you got hat you wanted, and youre not even using it.

The economy sucks. No one is hiring. Start paying attention to current events and you'll understand why someone with a degree is applying for a minimum wage job.

we go 4 years at school get into debt just when the Economy is so low that the places we have the skills are downsizing or can offered to be very picky and the places we worked during school now wont hire us cause they have to pay us more!

It's really not your fault,it just so happens that you live in the USA.If you lived in other countries it wouldn't be a problem.

I think you are just over qualified for the job, you can get turned down for jobs because of that you know?

if you need some extra cash and can't get a job maybe it's time to ***** yourself.
