Today I was sneaking some chocolate during my diet. Just a couple of pieces to suck on. It somehow broke my braces. FML.

Well, that's not how to suck on chocolate. And you better give a warning to any prospective dates.

That sounds like your orthodontist didn't secure something properly or didn't replace a wire that needed replaced- light suction shouldn't be enough pressure to make a wire come loose or pull off one of the mounts.
