If I don't want to talk to someone I just don't reply right away. Usually In an hour or so I'm in a more talkative mood. Though everyone in my life knows I go through quiet phases and doesn't take my non immediate responses personally.

Asssuming that you know it was him my gut reaction is that he doesn't deserve you, if you do dump him a good way to get back at him would be to pretend to not know who he is and when he says he is your boyfriend be adamant that you are single.
