Well I can see his logic, I just think it was a dick move. Tell your "friend" that you've always liked her, if she doesn't like you in the same way she'll feel uncomfortable and not want to hang out with you as much. If you keep confessing eventually she'll stop wanting to be around you at all. In the end you've gotten rid of her but in a way that doesn't make her feel bad about herself cause her friend doesn't want to see her any more. It's manipulative as hell, and as we can see, prone to massive backfires.

Yeah, after you manipulate someone who trusts your lie, make sure to abuse that trust by using them for sex so they can feel even more violated later when the truth comes out. What a sad, gross, scumbag idea.
