You coulda drilled it out with a drill bit
The best way to deal with it is a pin vise (small hand-turned drill) and a small drill bit. Carefully drill into the nail to relieve the pressure. Or you can just spin the bit by itself.
Wow I don't know what sounds more painful the hammering of your thumb , or the burning a hole through your nail either way I feel for you
It looks like you hammered the wrong nail.
oh, see now I just filed it down with a wood filer (great thinking) and drained it out myself. promptly folio we'd by my wife asking why I had a hole in me toe.
they bunt a hole in your nail? wtf why is that a treatment. I thought dropping a sewer lid on my finger and having to peel it all the way off was painful but that shit sounds unbearable.(by the way I was like 9 at the time)
Its to relieve pressure. Brain injuries require it too.
I waited it out. 6 months and a new nail later all traces of it ever happening were gone.
IAak yourself this, would you rather have the pain of a hole in your nail or the pain of the absence of a nail. The pressure from the blood will cause the nail to fall off if not relieved. Best of luck, and try to aim for the correct nail next time.
Try having your toenails ripped out. And not properly i might add. Drilling? Eh i did it all the time on purpose lol.
Not drilling, burning. Ugh yeah thats worse. I hope they numbed it first.

Nailed it.
The pain sucks at first, but it'll be much better than the pain the swelling would have caused.
