Content almost refused by staff

Today, I'm losing my voice and can barely speak at an audible tone. Today is also the day I'm trying to have a serious chat with my manager about my upcoming promotion. He can't stop laughing. FML

in my experience, the more I know somebody, the less immature their actions seem. so if OP has known their manager for a while, it could just be like a friend teasing a friend.
