Today, I had to train a new server at work. Unlike everyone else, I had the one trainee who didn't do his job or help in anyway. In fact, he made me lose tips because he wouldn't quit talking to my customers. My boss came up to me and told me to let him wander because he's less annoying. FML

You should try to communicate with him soon on how it works. He may just be a very friendly guy but he's new so he may not be aware on how to do his job properly. If you're uncomfortable, maybe try talking to your boss. It seems your boss also finds him annoying so he could step in and try to teach him how it works. Good luck!

I wish it were that simple. The guy was training for a higher position than mine so his head was rather... Big... He had a very good resume to top it off. He blamed every mistake he made on me. I couldn't fit this in the FML, but I just recently started working at this place, I started a few weeks ago, so I was in no position to be training. I tried joking around with him but he just made me look like a bad person. Thanks for the advice, though!

Oh wow, I was not expecting that. Sorry you had to deal with his ego issues. I'm a bit surprised that your boss decided to keep him after all that. (Especially since he finds this guy annoying too). Hope things have gotten better because egoist losers who only know to "blame others" are really annoying.
