Hi, OP here. Just to clarify to everyone, I am on an apprenticeship, if I left work to go to the hospital, I would have been fired and without a qualification that I desperately need. Yeah, I could have sued my bosses afterwards, but that wouldn't have gotten me a qualification. My wrist will never be the same so it does limit my options of work in the future, but I at least have a qualification now. I'm coming to terms with how I was treated and looking into legal action, but there doesn't seem to be much I can do, as the wording my boss used suggested I had a choice - but realistically? I couldn't just walk out. I nearly got fired as it was, as I left half an hour early due to extreme pain and approval from another high up supervisor who said they'd clear it with my boss. Still... it's shitty how I was treated, and I hope nobody else gets treated like this.
