Today, I got home from work to find an eviction notice taped to my door, stating that I was a nuisance and had 30 days to vacate the property. I live at home with my parents. FML

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Today, after my housemate handed in his notice to vacate without telling me beforehand, I had few days whilst working to make a decision to stay or vacate. In a panic, I chose vacate. On my day off I sat down with my finances and discovered I can't afford elsewhere. I asked to stay, my landlord put up rent by 50%. I might now become homeless. FML

Today, our landlord showed up with police and legal paperwork that let him throw us out immediately. Apparently my husband has been ignoring eviction notices for months and having vicious arguments with the landlord. Now we’re homeless and everything we own is in storage. FML

Today, I'm being evicted from my apartment for not paying rent. My father is the on-site landlord, meaning I now have to move my stuff downstairs into his place, and hear every day how I'm a failure. FML

Today, I moved back in with my parents in order to help them with the mortgage, so they don't lose the house that has been in our family for three generations. I also found out that I now have a curfew, and so does my husband and our 3 year old son. FML

I actually work for an eviction law firm and that's a pretty good deal. Most tenants only get 10 days.

Well, how old are you? What's the situation here? If your parents had a good reason for kicking you out, such as you being dependent on them, refusing to get a job, or doing drugs, then it's actually very generous of them to give you 30 days. If they're kicking you out for no reason, or you're underage, then I'm sorry and your life really does suck. Since you haven't given us any details, I'm not voting on this one.
