Today I got engaged. I'm an organised person so I'm not stressed at all. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law is a 'momzilla' and loosing sleep worrying about details. Pretty sure I'm the one planning the wedding and doing the work. FML

Unfortunately my mother in law decided to plan my wedding for me, including putting deposits down on venues in another state before we even got engaged. And sending pictures of dresses to me letting me know how much they were but also stating I probably wasn't going to fit into them by the wedding. Our wedding was a disaster and I can't wait to eventually renew our vows and have the ceremony we wanted. Hopefully she won't know until she gets the invitation.

I can totally relate. When my fiance and I told his parents (a couple weeks before everything were to take place) his mom freaked out and was like you guys should wait where are you going to have it ect ect. I planned the whole thing spent my money on the rings dress food. we ended up having a party at our friends house and now we are just going to have the paper signed to be done with it.

check out my he justnomil thread on reddit. you are not alone.

Make sure you dedicate some focus on life after the wedding, with hubby, momzilla, and other factors. Too many people get caught up on having the perfect wedding but what good are they if the actual marriage is subpar? Best wishes!
