I understand that they are using the money to pay the debt but they should have asked for help instead of taking it from you without you knowing. I agree FYL
If you open the account while you're a minor, your parents have access to it. If OP didn't get the account put solely in his name after he turned 18, his parents would have the power to withdraw from it.
Someones going to a nursing home.
Know the feel man.
this makes me so angry. my mom did this to me once when I was younger. we went to the bank to cash in some money in my account and my brothers. when I wanted to see how much was in there she wouldn't let me because she took some. I don't even know if she payed it back.
I know the feel man. Im 15 and had 3k in my account then checked on it online and there was $5 in it. My father is the guardian on the account and apparently he has some debts he forgot about and my account got garnished. He refuses to pay for it.
if your dumb enough to have their name in control of your account you deserve it
I would call the cops
Give it to them, they do a lot for you. My dad asks me for money with the farm economy being tough and I give it to him and don't ask for it back. He does a lot for me and I want to help him out anyway I can!

That's horrible! How dare they! You should sue them when they get back on their feet.
welcome to my life. my mother stole the 30k my grandparents gave me for sophomore year to 'pay off' her debts. i'm now 90k in debt after all the interest from the loan i had to take out.
