Today, I found out that a check had come in for a lawsuit for my mom passing. I was promised half from my father who mistreated her his whole life. My dad has been lying about it coming, and went on a drinking binge and gave me $50. FML

that's insanely messed up. Sorry, but if he mistreated your mom, why didn't you expect him to mistreat you? Also, how do you know the check didn't come in? What if it came in, and he just kept most of it because it was too tempting for him.

There's nothing you can do about that? :0 that's awful, I'm sorry. I'm not sure how it works, was wondering if you could bring that issue to court?
