Today, I found my wallet while cleaning my room. The same wallet I'd accused my drug-dealing stepbrother of stealing a month ago. The same wallet that has $500 in it that I was certain he'd taken. The same one my stepfather yelled at him for, because he believed me. FML

That's not necessarily prof he didn't steal it. My brother used to and still does steal stuff, and after someone says they're looking for it, it "mysteriously" reappears. It could have taken this long for him to earn the money back after he blew it on something.

While I understand why you thought your brother stole your wallet. You need to make it right between you and your brother family is the most important thing. If your not sure how to do it talk with your step father I'm sure he can guide you in the right direction. Please don't pocket the cash and hide the wallet in your brothers room.

I think OP knows, based on the circumstances how she found the wallet, that it has never been stolen. I hope she does the right thing.

Kind of hard to be an optimist about the non-existence of behavior you've seen evidence of.

Just because he didn't steal it originally doesn't mean he wasn't going to or wouldn't now. I'd say keep it hidden and don't mention it.

Would be funny if the brother also reads FML.

No worries, OP. If my years of watching Disney films have taught me anything, this is just the first act of the story in which your stepbrother meets a magical fairy godmother who will make him the belle of the ball.

That might be one of the hallucinations from the drugs... xD

Depends on what she does next. If she owns up to her mistake and apologizes to her stepbrother and stepdad, she could be a good person. If she just conceals her discovery, she's a ****. If she pockets the cash and plants the wallet in her stepbrother's room, she's a sociopathic, devious ****, and has a bright future in politics.

But if he's doing some dodgy deals, surely he'd be putting more money back in the wallet than he would've taken out? xD

I don't understand why people are telling you to pretend that nothing happened. Apologize to your brother and father. I'm sure they will both be angry but it's the right thing to do.

Why are we carrying $500 in wallets anyways? Looking for a drug dealer?

To lose it, blame her stepbrother, get her stepfather to believe it and post on here that she found it. She does this long con bi-annually for fantastic internet points, of course!

This reminds me of that college woman with the dirtiest room ever. it's weird when people throw accusations around. I guess it is easier than just cleaning your room (or keeping it clean)
