Today, I decided to give blood for the second time. I felt excrutiating pain when she stuck the needle in my arm. Another nurse came running over in a panic. Apparently my inexperienced nurse had put it in my tendon instead of my vein. FML

OH! Man, I hope you're ok. How the hell do you mistake a tendon for a vein? Veins are clearly a very different color from tendons. If you have dark skin or your veins aren't that visible then I can understand a bit better. Like I said, I hope you're ok and you don't have to go through something like this again. Hope this doesn't stop you from donating blood again in the future. Try asking for a more experienced nurse next time. I believe you can do that in most places.

your so vein (joke, for any of you idiots that'll see it and immediately critique every part of this)

So many nurses are retarded. They had to put an iv in me once, she stuck the back of my hand, missed my vein...then started digging. Pretty painful, she did this for about a minute before she took it out and put it in my upper arm where it was a quick and painless stick.

Oh man! That's awful. You should sue for having such an inexperienced bitch doing a procedure that needs to be done RIGHT.

Holy shit! FYL, I'm sorry :( I'd have smacked her and told her to never touch me again.

To those bashing the nurse, yeah it was a stupid mistake on her part but every nurse has to learn somehow...you just happen to be the unlucky bastard she was practicing on. How do you ever expect them to do it right if they don't practice? They have to learn somehow.

Ow, crap, that must have killed! I hope you're okay, and btw, that's great of you to be giving blood

All of you guys saying "they had to prick me 3 times! I feel your pain!" don't know what they're talking about. This could damage his ability to move his arm/hand, as well as being much more painful. FYL indeed.

umm, ya, the same thing happened to me except it was an IV at the hospital... i was screaming my head off and they thought i was being dramatic and it was pumping fluids into my tendon for a good 15 seconds before they noticed the hot dog sized lump in my arm. Sucks man hope you feel better.
