Talk to him about it. If he doesn't work, he needs to handle more of the chores. He doesn't have to do all of them, but he at least needs to take care of the big chores like doing laundry, sweeping floors, cleaning out the fridge, and some of the smaller stuff like dusting and sorting mail out to be shredded vs just trashed. Unless he's disabled, him expecting you to work and handle (from how it sounds) all the chores at home is ridiculous. Even if he is disabled, there are still things he could do.
