Today I bought a new mattress for the bed, and put the old one out, wrapped in the same protection the new one arrived in, for the refuse collection to take away (for which I had to pay). My neighbour saw the parcel left there, and took it in for me, presenting it to me later. FML

I think the two who commented misunderstood the post completely. OP put a new mattress inside and put the old mattress out. But BEFORE putting the old mattress outside, OP covered the old mattress with some sort of wrapping that came with the NEW mattress. OP then paid a garbage truck so it could take away the mattress. BUT their neighbour was mistaken and brought the " parcel" which was actually just the OLD mattress inside. Hence the "FML". I don't think OP thinks that the neighbour is bad. Mistakes happen and neighbour is definitely nice. (If OP is angry then that's a bit too much). But generally speaking, he/she may just be upset because the whole process was paid for & maybe he/she is low on money.

so...... FYL because you have a nice neighbor that was trying to be helpful.... is that what you're saying? This is seriously your worst problem?

Well, at least he's helpful. If he was a dick, he would have taken it for himself.
