Today, I berated my five-year-old nephew for peeing on the floor. His mom bitched me out for expecting "a little boy to have perfect aim." That's funny, it looked pretty good when he dropped his pants, looked me in the eyes, and started to piss on my rug. FML

There's a difference between missing the toilet and sprinkling some drops on the floor and/or seat, and having a rug completely soaked with pee...Some parents just dislike having someone else disciplining their child. I say, ask her to replace your rug.

He is pissing to mark his territory. Urine contains pheromones which are chemical substances which will diffuse into the air. They will warn off any invaders who dare threaten to try and invade. As a result your nephew is asserting his dominance as the alpha male of the pack. If you have a partner I would warn him to be careful. Things could get nasty.

Little kids can be devils! My boyfriend's nephew told me he had to poop when I was babysitting him, ran into the bathroom for, like, 30 seconds and came out still fully clothed. Guess who had to clean his clothes, his shoes and the floor?

In our house it would have been him (and before you get out the flame guns, even a 3 year old is able to help with rinsing clothes, handing out the paper towels, etc.). Having them assume responsibility for a boneheaded choice does wonders.

I would not have cleaned it up. He can strip himself, get in the shower and rise out his own shitty clothes and wash up.
