Today, I am currently grounded for three weeks, have no car, cell phone, or television privileges, and am not allowed to spend more than 10 minutes on the computer a day. The reason why: I was seven minutes past my 9'oclock curfew. I'm 18. FML

wow. your parents are punishing you for not moving out even though you're 18. they're ready for you to leave already. they've probably been trying to get you to run away for the last few years. take the hint buddy.

i'm a thirteen year old girl. my curfew is 12.30 on weekdays. my parents don't give a shit on weekends. i think something's wrong here.

I'll tell u what's wrong here...ur 13 and ur parents "don't give a shit". I guarentee OP's parents at least care about where they are and what they're doing...even if it's a bit over the top. Turning 18 only legally makes one an adult. You don't instantly become mature the minute you fur. 18. For instance, if you are 18 and live with ur parents, there's a reason.

"if you're eighteen and live with your parents, there's a reason" but did it occur to you that the reason might be that an eighteen year old could be in high school or university and couldn't live away from home? i'm 19 and i have no other option but to live with my parents, despite the fact that it takes me two and a half hours each way travelling to my uni, because as a full time student, i can't work enough hours to support myself without it severely affecting my studies, but i can't get money any other way - my parents don't have enough money to pay for me to move out, yet they have too much money for me to be eligible for any kind of government assistance (where i live i would not be considered independent unless i was married over a year or had a child, even if i lived in another state, so all their income & assets are included in means testing), and i can't get any kind of scholarship from my uni, as they are only available to people who get financial assistance from the government! i don't know how these things work in kansas but the op could be in a similar situation. personally, i think that moving away from home and needing to work so many hours that your studies (and potentially your future) would be affected simply to get away from strict parents isn't really a mature way to act - to me it seems like a pretty irresponsible decision.

Just do whatever the **** you want. You're 18, they can't physically make you do anything.
