Today, an American lady here in Ireland asked me if I was a Leprechaun. Thinking she was joking, and me being quite "vertically challenged," I decided to just say yes. She then grabbed me and made me endure photographs, cuddles and pats on the head from all her fellow tourists. FML

SpilledWater93 tells us more.

To those of you who are American, please stop apologising and feeling bad, I actually found that lady and her friends quite amusing so they made my day. And what's more the story got published on here, that's more exciting than a pot of gold any day

As an American, a little part of me just died inside.

Oh behalf of Americans who aren't complete morons; I apologize for you having to endure such humiliation.

I would say you need to stand up for yourself, but I guess you did and she just didn't notice. Try waving your hands and jumping about next time.

Bahahaha yanks can be so stupid. If they always ask people stereotypical questions just reply to their dumb question saying yes it is true or ask them a American stereotypical question.

I used to think all Americans were Fat ,dumb, and rich.

At least you have a good sense of humor about this

I like that you have a good sense of humor.

wait, but if you didn't mind, why did you post it as an fml, wouldn't it be a ftw or something of the sort? o.o

You definitely have a good sense of humor. I promise if I ever go to Ireland, I would never do that. Though you could always charge tourists to hug a leprechaun☺️

Kudos to you for being a good sport about it. :)

I really hope she was drunk because she makes Americans look bad.

You should have turned into the Leprechaun of the scary movie Leprechaun. You could have traumatized her and her fellow tourists instead. I would have appreciated it as I ran.

Im actually really disappointed to see people writing hate comments about America. Last time I checked this is our home. The people here aren't always the best but there are so many amazing people here. And im offended that people think we're uneducated, as of 2013, 21.8 million students attended college. So many Americans seek other countries that need help and we send groups to help, and it seems like nothing we do is good enough, we're just stupid uncaring Americans. *sorry for my ranting*

It may be the place we live. Some of us don't have the money to get out of this hell hole. It's not my home.
