Today, after working 11 hours straight in the grueling texas heat for weeks , I was paid a whopping $17.41 after being promised a significantly higher amount. FML

Pretty sure that's illegal, even if you are an immigrant (which, IDK) so you should look for some legal help. If you have any of the evidence in the form of text messages, letters, or phone calls that mention the agreed upon pay rate, you should collect them up and keep them together. Once you find a lawyer that gives a free consultation, take the records there, and they'll tell you if you do have a potential case and if they will take it on, if so. If not, they will usually give you a few other lawyers to try.
