Today, after many hours of driving I finally got to my motel. I specifically requested a non-smoking room, when I got there the room reeked of cigarettes and the walls were stained from the smoke. I have to drive to another town to get to a different hotel, and I'm out of $100. FML

you should've said that you need a non smoking room because you can't be near cigarettes due to medications you take. smoking and being near smokers can cause blood clots on certain medications, such as birth control, so you could've threatened with a lawsuit.

Requests aren't guaranteed to be met. If all they have left are smoking rooms, then you get a smoking room.
