Appeal that...just drink a soda or something but honestly you could look like you are having more fun...if that can change things...
If you want your job back report him to trading standards... Well that's if you have a contract to back you up. If he hires you per night or you have a 0 hour contract you're screwed.
I wouldn't want someone drinking on the job.
I'm not a big drinker either OP, and a lot of people seem to think that because I don't drink, I can't have fun at parties and so on. I sympathize with you. It really does sound like your boss was just looking for a reason to fire you though. If possible, try talking to a lawyer to see if you can get some sort of compensation? Good luck OP
It will cost OP a fortune to hire a lawyer for a wrongful dismissal case, he/she is better off looking for a better job, and as he/she has been in the business a while, hopefully can use their reputation to help facilitate that.
that's shifty. well at least you can say you're not an alcoholic.
I guess you can infer that you don't look enthusiatic enough, which is expected from someone who's leading the party. You may try to work on it on future jobs, but, please, don't develop a drinking habit. Specially on the job. You don't need alcohol to have fun.
You shouldn't drink on the job it's not professional, no matter what job it is. Sorry OP you'll find another gig hopefully at a better place.
My dad has a policy of no drinking when working (he's a sound tech guy with quite a bit of experience behind him). It seems to me like you like your job and it's stupid of your boss not to notice the positives by having a sober DJ..

I don't drink much either and a lot of times people don't think Im having fun at parties because of it. I can sympathize with you here, you don't have to get wasted to have some fun.
