Today, a bunch of friends and I went skinny dipping in a pond. The guys all grabbed the ladies' underpants and waved then around. My bloody pad was inside of one of them. FML

Today, a few of my friends arranged for us to go skinny-dipping with the guy I really like. It went really well, until a turd surfaced before our eyes. After we scrambled out of the pool in panic, my crush called us all freaks and left. FML

Today, I went skinny dipping with a few friends at my friend's house. It was really fun until one of my friends shrieked, saying there were bugs in the pool. Everyone jumped out and looked at her. Turns out the "bugs" she saw was my body hair. FML

Today, I went skinny-dipping with my friends. At one point, I jokingly pointed out how one of them had the smallest boobs of us all. She calmly got out of the pond, dried herself, scooped up our clothes and phones, and drove off in her car. The cops she called arrived soon after. FML

Today, I went swimming at a public pool. When I dove in, my speedos decided they’d had enough of me and slipped right off. I spent a minute underwater debating my life choices before realizing they’d floated to the shallow end, right next to a group of giggling kids. FML

Today, I went skinny dipping with my friends. A security man drove up the dock we were on with his bike. After informing us that the dock was closed, and noticing all of our swimsuits on the dock, he refused to move his flashlight beam from us in the water. FML

Today, I went skinny-dipping with my best friend. We were on the beach and it was fairly crowded but we got in the water at this really secluded area. While we were swimming I looked up to see a homeless man wearing my clothes, walking away. FML

Today, my friend and I decided to go skinny-dipping in her pool just after we'd finished watching a scary movie. While we were in the pool, I heard something move in the bushes so I freaked out and ran onto the deck, slipping and falling flat on my back. Her dad saw the whole thing. FML

Today, while in the hot tub with my friends, my gum fell out of my mouth and I had no idea where it went. Later that night I realized it had fallen down my swimsuit and had become adhered to my pubic hairs which then stuck to my underwear. FML

Today, I went swimming in a pond. I came out covered in leeches. Terrified, I screamed, flailed about and cried out for help until half a dozen people ran over. One of them was kind enough to point out that those leeches I was so afraid of were actually patches of mud. FML

Everyone's so invested in telling women what we can and can't do on our periods. Wow. Reminds me of a past FML when a girl found out via pictures that her tampon string had been visible when she was dancing sexily at a club and everyone was telling her it was her own fault because apparently being sexy while on your period is not allowed. No, women can do the exact same range of stuff on our periods as we can do off our periods (unless prevented by debilitating cramps). If that makes men uncomfortable, tough.

I'm a bit disheartened by the shaming comments from other women, too. Okay, so blood is a bodily fluid and should generally be avoided, but maybe that means the GUYS in this particular FML were responsible for not being gross dicks? **** OP's life. First the FML itself, then the rain of judgment.

It is a little more gross to get your period blood in the pool than dancing. The girl dancing wasn't going to get period everywhere, this girl got NAKED and was free flowing, literally.

It wasn't a pool, it was a pond. Ponds have ecosystems around them, so there's probably some life form around there that would just eat or otherwise decompose the blood, no big deal. If the pond can handle the occasional inevitable dead frog or fish, the pond can handle a little period blood. It's not really adding significant levels of grossness. Also, water pressure stops the flow. So assuming she intended to put her underwear on immediately after getting out, the "free flowing" is just a transitional stage and wouldn't last long enough to really matter unless she had a super heavy flow.
