I feel like we need more context, otherwise that question isn't fair. Relationships aren't necessarily that simple. Was he doing anything to make her happy? It goes both ways, they're supposed to be there for each other and make each other happy. If you're implying that it's only her job then you're not a very nice mom. If he was a good, caring husband and she didn't do her part, then that's fair.
Realistically, no one can make anyone else happy. It's not her job to make her husband happy, nor is it his job to make her happy. But if she's not trying to help him live a better life, and he's not doing the same for her, their marriage can definitely use some work.
