Today, I made a small mistake, I admit, but my boss screamed at me that I’m completely useless and that if my uncle weren’t senior manager he’d fire me. I think he’s mistaken me for someone else, since I don’t have any uncles, but if I tell him that now, I actually believe he will fire me. FML

Use the imaginary Uncle to your advantage, next time you don’t want to do something you can just threaten them with your fake Uncle Boss.

Eventually it’s all going to unravel when the truth comes out. Start looking for a new job now (without telling anyone connected to work). Then when you find a decent job give your notice and avoid the eventual blowup… If you try to use your nonexistent “uncle” it’s going to give your boss reason to confirm the truth of the situation. They may have you confused with someone else. Either way, the days are numbered…
