Today, I finally have a day to go to the library and read for hours. Today is also a playday event for toddlers. In the library. FML

One of the great features of libraries is that they let you take the books away for a bit and read them where you choose.

I hate when they bring big groups of kids to libraries- not only do they tend to thrash the place, but I've never not encountered pee on the floor- and even the shelves- when it's one of those days. Wanting to promote reading is great, but for ***** sake, don't bring so many of the little hellions that you can't keep them from pissing on everything like feral animals.

While I understand how you feel, this isn't your first time there and must be aware of days such as that one. YDI for not collecting a monthly program book to plan ahead, checking the "events" section of the library's website, or phoning ahead before going over there. Just check the books out.

Yes that’s a good idea, also it shouldn’t be necessary. We’re all aware of how well known it is that you’ll get “shushed” in a library for being loud. I’m glad there are programs for kids; we need to educate them from a young age so they will (hopefully) grow into well read, well intentioned, and (hopefully)well educated people.

@ninjacat - Agreed. I took part in library programs as a child and am very grateful to have done so.
