Kids say the funniest things

Today, my 6 year-old daughter saw a man in a wheelchair whose leg had been amputated. She walks up to him and says, "What happened?" He answers kindly that he's a war veteran. She then responds, "Well then you deserve to get your leg blown off. You shouldn't be killing people." FML

i got lots of mixed feeling on this one on one hand, yes the guy fought for what the country believed to be right which it hardly ever is on the other, killing another person is never right regardless of what context we analyze it in overall, bad thing to say, but her logic makes sense, actually

I have an idea, why don't you teach your kid that it's not the soldiers who start wars, it's the politicians who do that.

Kids can be blunt. There is only one thing I know for sure in this world and that is: killing is bad. However, although I agree with your daughter in a strange way, that was a very rude thing to say. Hopefully you taught her to show respect for people, even if she doesn't necessarily agree with them.

would you chill out! she is 6, and don't go calling people bad parents you don't know this person. As for the child go her, at least she knows right from wrong, a lot of people fail in that respect. So contrary to some belief, congratulation you are a wonderful parent you've instilled the necessary morals into your child.

FHL. He fought for your country and comes back only to have some little girl tell him he deserved what happened to him. Teach your daughter to respect veterans even if you're against war.

Without people will get fight and kill for their country, their never would've been a United States in the first place. It was the Army and Navy that built the United States, secured it, and allowed it to grow to its current size. So, saying we should never fight wars is inherently un-American.

#16, who actually makes the decisions in war? Most of the soldiers in Vietnam were only following orders, and would have faced severe consequences for doing otherwise. Some people can't afford to give up their salary and jeopardize future employment opportunities by standing up for their ideals in the army.

fighting wars being American does not make it right btw. And read a book or something Army and Navy built USA, how about politicians and people, USA hasn't protected itself from anything since the bloody war of 1812, and a bit in WW2.

#33 - But the terrorists are doing most of the fighting these days. By supporting violence you're supporting the terrorists!
