It's the final countdown

Today, I found out my mom has notebooks with lists of everything she has bought for me ever since I was born. Apparently she is going to make me pay her back for all the money she spent on me once I'm an adult. FML

Fortunately this is the kind of situation that simply allows you to ignoree your mother. You have no legal or moral obligation to pay her back. That's how it works: Her mother paid for her childhood, she paid for your childhood and you'll be paying for the childhood of your kid when you get one. Neat circle, eh?

My mother didn't keep notebooks, but when I moved out at 17 she asked me for $134,000 for all the love and care I got for the last 17 years. I gave her just under 1.5% ($2000) and told her to sue me for the rest.

I wouldn't have given her anything! well, maybe the bird as I drove away.

I've given my parents money for rent, food, expenses, etc. But that's only out of the goodness of my heart. If they'd demand I owe them I'd laugh.

SOME PEOPLE SHOULD NEVER BE PARENTS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

The nice thing is, once you're an adult, you don't *have* to pay her back.

some people are horrible... I say before she gets the chance disappear

She can't make OP pay it, there's no way to enforce it. It's not like she had a contract with OP.
