When I was a resident I was jealous of the patients because they got to lie down. I actually used to wish I'd get pneumonia or something and be just sick enough that I could stay home for a few days. Even now sometimes I'd rather fall down the stairs or something than go to work.

I'm a little worried about your mental health, OP. It doesn't sound like you're suicidal but you are seriously thinking of harming yourself, which isn't good. Plus, you wouldn't know how badly hurt you'd get if you were hit by a moving vehicle. You could be seriously hurt or even killed so don't do it. You might want to take to someone.
