Ok, seriously, I am *all* for equality in every which way, and have zero problems with women wanting to pay for their own stuff, but I gotta be honest - this is just over the top. You need to calm down. It wasn't sexism, it was simply him trying to be nice, and if you are off in some weird world where kind gestures of a romantic nature constitute sexism, then I feel really sorry for you. It was in no way based on sexism, and the fact that you deemed it necessary to get into a 'heated argument' is frankly more obnoxious than his offer to pay for the meal. If you let your anger over other feminist issues spill over into something as simple as this then you're not only wasting a hell of a lot of energy, you're only going to offend the people who would have originally thought you were worth such generous gestures in the first place. Anyway, the YDI's on here are totally spot on - YDI, not necessarily because of your mindset, but for making such a big deal out of something and then not being able to back it up.
yet another example of the death of chivalry.
You should’ve let him pay...It’s sweet when they pay for you.

girl, it's just polite, classy, traditional. get over yourself it's nothing to get in a heated argument about, either. come on, if you offer to pay half and he declines, accept graciously. it makes you seem like less of a bitch.
Wow...there's really no need to get into a heated argument about it.
