Today, I realized I'd lost my wallet when paying for groceries. I had to put all the items back and leave the store feeling so embarrassed in front of everyone. FML

That's a mistake so classic that people weaponize it by leaving their cart full of groceries at the cash when their expired coupons get refused. If you really put all of your items back where they belong, you have become the grocery's favorite customer.

You're at least better than certain people in the US where they just leave their items behind so some store employee has to put them back themselves.

It's possible they will hold your purchase in a fridge or freezer until you can come back to pay. Also, I keep one credit card hidden in my vehicle for occasions like this.
