Haha, my dad is a surgeon too and he haaaaates medical shows (especially Grey's Anatomy) because of how inaccurate they are. I agree with watching Breaking Bad with him instead though. My dad loves that show and so do I. Can't go wrong.
I get what he is saying. For me it's cars. Every tv show where people work on cars you see something that's just dumb. For instance when you see a show where a cars brakes were cut I always hate that because care as soon as you start your car you will know there is an issue because what do you press when starting it.
Never, ever, introduce someone who specializes in something, to a TV show about it. It will be pretty much always inaccurate and in best case, the solutions will be at least funny to the specialist.
#57 Okay, this is where it gets confusing. I'm not enrolled in a Med School, but I'm studying everything that you learn in Med School. I figured that would sound like I'm making it up (like it does now) and people wouldn't understand, so I tried to simplify it for y'all. You could quiz me, though, and I'd answer 98% of it correct. Hope that clarified it a bit. :)
That's what medical school does to you!
TV is notoriously inaccurate no matter the profession they portray. Trying watching an action show with a physicist you'll get the lecture of a lifetime.
True, but it just gets annoying when they don't even try... At least in ER they had real professionals present when shooting the scenes to make it as close to reality as possible...
Happens at my house too- nurses. Just stopped watching it with them lol
That's what my parents do for those things too
I would be honest with him and say well I was only trying to bond with you forgive me for ******* trying.

******* "House". I can't watch that goddamned show. Doctors don't do their own pathology, give medicines, start IVs, take X-rays, do angiograms, or run the MRI. $@!% &*#%* £$!@ "#+*!
DocBastard has kids, eh?
