Today, my daughter is 16 hours-old and cries every time I pick her up, and refuses to be breast fed. She loves sleeping peacefully in her dad’s arms, and being bottle-fed by him. My 16 hour-old baby hates me. FML

Today, my newborn daughter has kept me up all day and all night for the past few days. Usually my husband sleeps. I finally cracked and yelled for his help, only for him to scream at me that he needs sleep and gives her to me anyway. FML

Today, and every day for the past 3 years, my daughter has consistently woken me up throughout the night to nurse. Bonus? She’s up by 7:00am in the morning and falls asleep around 10pm and it takes me 2 hours to fall asleep. I’m mentally and physically drained, and exhausted. FML

Today, my 6-month-old daughter decided she'd scream every time I'd answer her cries instead of her daddy. He just left for a 12-hour shift at work. Only 11 more hours to go. FML

Today, after my 4 year-old was so excited to be a big sister, hugging my belly every chance she got, counting down the days till the due date, my son was born this morning. She took one look at him and declared, “I don’t like him, leave him here, do we have to keep him?” then started crying. FML

Today, my wife hates being a mom so much that our daughter is practically being raised by her grandparents, due to how often she just drops her at their house, multiple times a week. I of course pick her straight up as soon as I finish work, but it’s her bedtime only an hour later. This is not good. FML

Today, and ever since I gave birth to my son, I’ve hated being a mom. I held him, waiting for the rush of love my mom told me I’d feel and… nothing, I was completely emotionless about holding my newborn son and it’s gotten worse. I really hate being a mom, and my husband just does not understand. FML

Today, my aunt keeps calling me to come and settle her baby for her, because I’m the only one she sleeps for. Seriously, she’ll sleep for hours when I hold her, but anyone else and she’ll scream. I don’t even like kids and the constant disruptions to my childfree life aren’t helping change my opinion. FML

Today, my baby will only stop crying if my evil-smelling, bad-tempered, violent, half-feral, half-psychotic cat climbs into her cot to sleep next to her all night, yet when I try to do anything like feed her or change her nappy, she cries like she’s being tortured, I just don’t understand. FML

I went through this exact same thing with my daughter.. She absolutely refused to breastfeed and would only drink from a bottle, otherwise she would scream until she'd fall asleep.. Wake up.. Refuse to feed and would continue screaming. DO NOT feel guilty about bottle feeding! Also, don't listen to the morons cramming 'breast is best' down your throat. Only YOU know what is best for your baby and you're not robbing her of anything if you're bottle feeding or using formula. I know plenty of formula fed only kiddos that turned out very well. It took me a long time to stop feeling guilty about not being able to breastfeed.. But really, my baby is happy and healthy and I'm sure yours is too. Also, my daughter is ahead of schedule with milestones and is in the 97th percentile for her height and she was bottle fed as well :) Go easy on yourself, postpartum is a heck of a trip! Sometimes it takes a while for that bond to develop, but you'll get there. It gets easier too, I promise! She does not hate you, she spent nine months listening to your voice and growing inside you - she'll learn how to express that love for you very soon!

You had her all to yourself for 40 weeks. Give dad a shot to bond and enjoy to peace and rest. A mom as loving, involved, and concerned as you will win her over in no time.
