Today, I took my grandma to the hospital to visit her estranged husband who she hasn't seen in years. After a thoroughly disasterous visit, we're waiting in the carpark and my gran strokes my face and tells me I have a lot of facial hair. I thought she was going to thank me. And I'm a girl. FML

Today, I used a tanning bed for the first time ever, in an attempt to get a base tan for the summer. No one bothered to warn me that you shouldn't go the full ten minutes your first time. Now my skin is as red as my hair. FML

Depends on her age. If she's in her late 80's-90's, they're not being racist. They just don't know better. My grandmother is the same way at 100 but doesn't think anything of it while the rest of us cringe. That's just the way life was for her first 60 years. The world had evolved a ton in the last 30-40 years and had completely passed them by.
