Today, I spent nearly an hour thawing out my car and driving to work in this stupid freezing rain, only to find out that I'm now unemployed due to budget cuts. FML

Today, I spent nearly half an hour clearing several inches of snow off my car. After almost suffering from hypothermia, I finished. Except the car keys were missing from my pocket, presumably buried under a foot of snow. FML

Today, I spent an hour in a snowstorm waiting for my bus to show up. After I got fed up, I decided to just clean off my car and drive to work. After I was halfway finished swiping off the snow and ice stuck to my car, the bus drove right past me. FML

Freezing rain is amazing! I've only seen it once or twice but freezing rain is liquid rain that freezes when it hits the ground. It's rare and incredibly hazardous but it does happen. It forms a sheet of solid ice over everything amazingly quickly. It's very interesting from a scientific point of view - very pure water can be super-cooled below freezing point without turning solid if there is nothing to seed it. It then freezes on contact, shock etc. Try putting a new, unopened, bottle of water in the freezer for about an hour (your mileage may vary). It will come out liquid but if you bang it on the counter it will freeze instantly - you have just created bottled freezing rain!

freezing rain is rain that freezes shortly after it hits the ground. i could be wrong about that definition, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

Oh, don't let my sarcasm fool you, I'm not really that upset over it... ;-) But yes, it starts as rain in the sky, but then freezes on the way down.. It is actually slightly different than snow or hail.. Unfortunately, we've had plenty of all three around here lately... :-/

You would be correct. Freezing rain is a type of precipitation that falls as rain, but turns to ice the moment it comes into contact with a solid object. To that guy who said it wasn't: google it and baw at your failure.

If they've been rejected by walmart they are the scum of society and have no useful skills whatsoever. It doesn't really count when they look for work as they don't actually possess the mental capacity to successfully perform the job even if they do somehow get hired.
