Today, I was the waiter for my family at the village inn. It wasn't too bad, until I found out they left me no tip, only a napkin that said, "Get a haircut." FML
Just because they're family doesn't mean they'll leave a tip. And because they were family, did you not give them as good of service because you're more comfortable with them and just assumed they'd leave you a tip regardless? Honestly, the tipping system needs to just stop and food service workers need to be paid a decent wage. Tips are extra and shouldn't be the primary source of income for waiters.
